Description 
The Australia and New Zealand Liver and Intestinal Transplant Registry is a collaborative effort of the liver transplantation units in Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney) and New Zealand (Auckland). The Registry contains de-identified data on all liver and intestinal transplantation activity across Australia and New Zealand since the first liver transplant in 1985. Data includes demographics, reason for transplant, patient survival, graft outcomes, type of graft, causes of patient death, deceased donor and living donor information, waiting list activity and cancer after transplantation.
Scope
ANZLITR is a collaboration of the liver and intestinal transplant units in Australia and New Zealand. It includes all participants that are wait-listed and those that receive a liver and/or intestinal transplant as well as participants that are living liver donors (who donate a part of their liver). The Registry contains data on all liver and intestinal transplants performed in Australia and New Zealand since establishment of first liver transplant unit in 1985.
Limitations 
Comprehensive waiting list data collection commenced in 2004, partial collection only prior to 2004.
Purpose 
The purpose of the Australia & New Zealand Liver and Intestinal Transplant Registry is to collect, collate and analyse data on the outcomes of treatment of patients with acute or end stage liver failure and/or intestinal failure.
