The NCSR holds electronic records of individuals participating in the NCSP and supports their program participation wherever they live. It is an integral part of cancer screening service delivery by facilitating invitations and reminders for screening, mailing of bowel test kits and supporting clinical decision-making.

The NCSR currently holds information relating to the National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP) and National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP), including individuals’ personal information.

The recently re-developed register has resulted in changes to the structure and definition of data in the collection which are still being finalised. Linked data for bowel screening only available from 1 August 2006
