Yes; any researcher applying for access to identifiable data held by NSW and ACT Health for research purposes must obtain data custodian and ethics approval. Please contact CHeReL client services at: moh-cherel@health.nsw.gov.au

Approvals required for publication

If the paper does not include any ACT specific data (in tables, figures or text), a pre-review is not needed. Please send a notification when a paper is about to be published. Notifications can be emailed to HealthInfo@act.gov.au noting in the email that it contains no ACT specific data.

Where the paper includes ACT specific data (in tables, figures or text), please submit the paper for pre-review prior to publication. Those that DO include ACT specific data should be logged using the ‘DAB General Request’ form via our request portal Data Analytics Branch - Jira Service Management (atlassian.net). Please complete the Summary field with ‘Publication Review: <title of paper to be published> (<study abbreviation >)’
