The NT Inpatient Activity dataset collects morbidity data on admitted patients from six public hospitals in the Northern Territory.
Scope
The NT Inpatient Activity dataset includes all admitted patient separations (discharges, transfers and deaths) from the six public hospitals in the Northern Territory.
Limitations
Data from Darwin Private Hospital, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Centres and NT Government remote health clinics are not included in this dataset.
Purpose
Administrative. NT Inpatient Activity Dataset is an inpatient morbidity data collection designed to provide NT Health with the information resources necessary to effectively organise, evaluate and plan health services in the Northern Territory. It also allows NT Health to meet national obligations through submissions to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA), the National Health Performance Authority and the National Health Funding Body.
